CESSPOOLS AND STORAGE TANKS

Cesspools are typically installed in developments where there is no access to mains drainage and applications where a septic tank or sewage treatment system is not suitable.  These are designed for storage only, and NOT treatment.  Apart from regular emptying, these chambers are maintenance free. High Level Alarms with audible or visual warnings are installed for all tanks to enable level monitoring for optimum use.  These are no longer in common use as it is a costly option due to the need for the chambers to be emptied on a regular basis. Cesspools are therefore only used as a last resort.
